Rimmen is the capital of the Independent City-State of Rimmen.

History[edit]

Founded by Akaviri refugees fleeing Nibenay after the Warlord Attrebus took the throne and exiled those of Akaviri descent during the Second Era Interregnum. Many of these refugees were offered asylum in Elsweyr by the Mane, and they began to settle North Eastern region of Elsweyr, known as “The Rim”. Eventually the refugees claimed regional independence, founding the city that would become known as Rimmen, much to the displeasure of the Anequinan Khajiit indigenous to the area, leading to several border wars between the Rimmenese & Anequinan clans.

Eventually Rimmen developed into beautiful city inspired by their Akaviri & Tsaesci roots, but quietly built on the backs of Khajiit slaves. The religion within the city is a mix between traditional Akaviri beliefs, and Reman-worship prevalent during the Reman Dynasty (rooted in the blade-surrender at Pale Pass, where the Akaviri invaders acknowledged Reman I as a living divinity, and ancestral origin of most Akaviri-descended peoples living in Tamriel). The city itself is known to its inhabitants as “the Holy City of Reman”, with the term “Rimmen” originating from the Khajiit and Nibenese as a term for those that lived in the Rim-lands of Elsweyr.
